As If No One Is Watching
(2009-present)

In this selection of works in progress I intend to present new directions that continue to question themes around beauty and belonging as it relates to identity and the body. In this newest work I am interested in the kind of “practicing” we do alone in our homes as preparation for being in the world with others.

Alone at Home
(2008-present)

In this selection of works from the series Alone at Home I intend to express an ambiguous and gendered figure in order to look at desire and the search for one’s identity buried deep within excess.

Drapery Series
(2004-2007)

In this selection of works from the Drapery Series I choose to depict a draped figure to address questions of absence vs. presence. I am interested in how the drape takes shape and resembles the human form or a garment. The ambiguity and concealment of the draped form in my work is intended to create both a physical and psychological interior space.
